Republican Party of San Diego County Endorses Dr. Melanie Burkholder for Assembly

(San Diego County, CA) – The Republican Party of San Diego County announced their endorsement of Dr. Melanie Burkholder for Assembly (AD76) by its elected Central Committee members on Monday night.
“Melanie is an impressive candidate with a unique background that will serve her well in Sacramento,” said Tony Krvaric, Chairman of the Republican Party of San Diego County. “This seat is a vital part of regaining common sense, conservative governance in San Diego County.”
“I believe Melanie is the best candidate in this race because she not only has the credentials to serve the 76th District well in Sacramento, but she also possesses the determination it will take to win this seat back from liberal Democrat Tasha Boerner Horvath in November,” Krvaric concluded.
The 76th encompasses coastal North County, including Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and the cities of Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, and Vista. The district is currently occupied by liberal Democrat Tasha Boerner Horvath, who won election in 2018. Boerner Horvath is the first Democrat to win this seat since redistricting in 2012. The District’s voter registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.
“I am proud to be the Republican Party of San Diego County endorsed candidate in this race,” said Dr. Melanie Burkholder. “When elected to represent the 76th District, I will work tirelessly to advance my priorities of lowering taxes on hardworking Californians, reducing regulation that harms businesses, and enhancing government accountability to ensure our hard-earned tax dollars are spent wisely.”
Dr. Melanie Burkholder is a decorated Secret Service agent, mental health counselor, and proud wife and mother. A Republican, Melanie will take the same fight to Sacramento special interests and ultra-liberal politicians that she took to our nation’s criminals while serving in the Secret Service.
