CRWF History
The Carlsbad Republican Women
Federated, a Diamond Award Club, has a long and
illustrious history, which began in 1947 as the
Oceanside/Carlsbad Republican Women Club. By 1963, they
were meeting at the Wayside Inn in Carlsbad and they changed
their name to the North Shore Republican Women. Some years
later, in 1974, the name was changed to the Carlsbad
Republican Women Federated and they have retained that name
ever since.
The members of
Carlsbad Republican Women Federated have always been
involved in the community in many ways. They provide a
$1,000 scholarship for a deserving high school student each
year. They participate in Operation Apron and Caring for America by
packing boxes of necessities for our troops overseas. CRWF
has won numerous awards for registration of voters over the
years. They have supported the College Republicans at Palomar College and Cal State University San
Marcos. They support the campaign precinct walks during
elections, and several members of our club are precinct
captains. One of CRWF’s main goals has always been to keep
their members informed of the many current political and
community issues and to take action when necessary.
The club met in many different
places over the years including Wayside Inn, Pea Soup
Anderson’s, Raintree, the Europa Restaurant, and Daisy’s.
During 2007 they met at the Olympic Resort and Spa in Carlsbad. In 2008, the meeting location was the historic
Windmill in Carlsbad, the old Pea Soup Andersons, located directly East of the 5
freeway at Palomar Airport Rd.
The current meeting location is the Hilton Garden Inn located at 6450 Carlsbad Blvd, in Carlsbad, West off the 5 freeway at Palomar Airport Rd and 1 block South on gorgeous and historic Coast Highway 101.
